We are selling our house which is in the small village of Messonghi 14 miles south of Corfu town and the international airport. Messonghi is a relatively unspoilt small resort running parallel to the sea for about a mile, and separated from its close more lively neighbour Moraitika. The house is situated on the edge of town and up a peaceful small lane. It is approximately 5 minutes walk to the beach and Messsongi village and about 10 -15 minutes walk to Moraitika centre. The village itself has a few small supermarkets, tavernas and restaurants and car hire to meet all your requirements and neighbouring Moraitika is just a short walk for more choice. You will find a variety of tavernas on the sea front offering lovely views across to the Greek main land. The beach front is shallow and sheltered so very good for children to play. The bungalow is located up a quiet country lane just on the outskirts of Messonghi. It is detached, with wrought iron gates and marble stairs leading to the front door. The house is surrounded by patio on both sides. To the front of the house there are four fruit trees, two lemon one orange and one mandarin. Although there is no garden there is ample space and scope should you wish to change some of the patio area.  All interior floors are marble, and the ceilings are of traditional wood panel.
Doors and windows are all double glazed and have fly screens fitted. Entrance is directly into the open plan living/kitchen area. The kitchen is fitted with solid wood cupboards, sink unit, stand alone cooker/oven with extractor fan, fridge freezer, washing machine. One of the features of the living area is the Greek style open fire place. The property is being sold fully furnished with all kitchen equipment making it easy to move straight in. French doors lead out onto the covered veranda from the living room and front bedroom.
The two spacious double bedrooms lead from the living room and both have fitted wardrobes. There is a shower room with W.C and sink, this area is fully tiled. The house is on mains water and the electric oil filled radiators will be included in the sale

In the summer there are various charter flights that fly from the UK to Corfu, and there is news that flights will eventually continue into winter. In 2007 British Airways started flights to Corfu and FlyGlobespan start in 2008 from certain airports. At present the best way to fly to Corfu in the winter months is via Athens, although Christmas and New Year flights are available direct but are booked fairly quickly.
Once at the airport a taxi ride of about 25 minutes costing about 30 Euros will get you to the house.
Corfu is the greenest of the Greek islands with dark green cypress trees and has approx 3 million olive trees. The old town itself is of Venetian style and centred around the old fortress. If you wish to move to Corfu to live there is little to stop you. Greece is a part of the EU. The cost of living is less than the UK in that things are in general a little cheaper, electric, oil, water, fuel and telephone all seems to be better. TV licenses are in with the electric bill and council tax is non existent. Car insurance is around the same. There are primary and secondary schools in most towns.
